The North Carolina Reading Association actively promotes lifelong literacy for all citizens commensurate with each individual’s unique capacity. They encourage professional interaction among individuals and organizations involved with literacy to provide resources for exemplary literacy practices and habits.
There are opportunities for professional development, networking, and undergraduate and graduate student scholarships.

Conference Theme: Learning and Leading on the Literacy Landscape
The North Carolina Reading Association holds a three-day conference. Nationally-recognized authors will present at general sessions. Children’s authors, national literacy experts and administrators and teachers from N.C. classrooms will conduct two and/or three hour institutes on Sunday, March 19 and one-hour sessions on Monday and Tuesday, March 20-21, 2017.
With prior approval from your LEA, you receive .5 CEUs for attending Sunday institutes and 1.0 CEUs for attending sessions on Monday and Tuesday.
